Item
Title
Liu Zhi / 柳枝 (Babylon Weeping Willow)
Doc Hay's Shorthand
Liu Zhi Ye / 柳枝 葉 (twigs, leaves)
Latin name
Salix Babylonica / Salicis Ramulus
Translator's annotation
The single character on the left (葉) indicates "leaves" but the content picture only shows twigs/branches. It doesn't seem to be a popular herb in modern times, but according to a source (http://thanhsiang.org/en/medicinal-plants-0): "In Chinese medicine, the plant is mainly used as a disinfectant and an antiseptic. The young shoots are boiled in water to extract the water soluble medicinal substances and used as a wash for abscesses, ulcers and skin diseases."
