Item
Name
Ji Ming Wan / 鸡呜丸 (Chicken Crying Pill)
Type of Pre-mixed Formula
Pill
Instruction For Use
"This formula should be taken at daybreak or when the 'cock crows.' At this time of day the yang increases, the yin diminishes, and the stomach is empty. The increase in yang assists the body in dispelling damp-cold, while the empty stomach increases absorption and thus the laxative effect of the formula." (Bensky, p. 201)
Translator's annotation
Actions: Promotes the movement of qi, causes turbidity to descend, and transforms damp-cold. (Bensky, p. 202)
